How The Meetinghouse Ledger handles reading, host logs and notes sent to the desk, in plain terms.
How reading works here
The Meetinghouse Ledger keeps reading simple. Pages are served straight from the host, the desk counts nothing as you read, and your device is left as it was: no account, no cookie, no profile kept of which pages you opened.
Server logs
The hosting provider records ordinary request logs so the file can be served and kept up: the address requested, the time, the referring page and the browser's user agent. Those logs stay with the host and its own published policy.
Notes sent to the desk
A note you send is read by the desk and used to answer you. If it corrects a page, it is used to correct that page. Your address stays with the desk for as long as the exchange takes and goes no further.
